Bass Cat Boats is excited to announce a significant enhancement to its Quest Tournament Rewards program specifically tailored for the 2025 Bassmaster Opens. This program addition aims to reward our owners for their dedication to the brand and their tournament performance, leading to increased winnings and further engagement in competitive fishing.Starting with the 2025 season, the Quest Tournament Rewards program will introduce a lucrative payout structure for participants in the Bassmaster Opens. The adjustments are as follows:
Regular Season Events: The qualified angler with the highest finish in each of the eight (8) regular season events will now receive a payout of $2,500. Should an angler take first place, the payout will be elevated to $10,000.
Elite Qualifier Events: For the three (3) Elite Qualifier events, the highest qualified finisher will receive $3,500, and first-place winners will receive an impressive $12,500.
Eligibility for these rewards remains consistent with the Quest Tier 1 events. To qualify, anglers must be the original owner of a Bass Cat Boat and within the first two years of ownership. This ensures that our loyal customers are adequately recognized and rewarded for their competitive spirit.
“Bass Cat Boats has always been committed to supporting anglers and enhancing their competitive experience,” said Matt Looney, Sales & Marketing Manager of Bass Cat Boats. “The adjustments to the Quest Rewards program for the 2025 Bassmaster Opens are a testament to our dedication to the angling community. We believe these rewards will not only motivate our anglers to perform their best but also strengthen their connection to Bass Cat as a brand.” This revamped Quest Rewards program is part of Bass Cat’s ongoing effort to foster a thriving fishing community and to support anglers in their quest for excellence. With increased payouts, Bass Cat aims to inspire more participants to strive for victory and elevate the competitive standard in fishing.
Family First
Family is my #1 priority when I am home. I might be in the Missile office every day that I am not on the road but I drop everything for family activities. My step son, Noah, is 25. He and his fiance moved away to Charlotte for a while after college but they moved back to the area last year. That is awesome for our family. My 17 year old daughter, Myah, is a senior and plays volleyball. She is looking at colleges so that is a slippery time for parents. Our youngest daughter, Ivy, is 12 and is all into gymnastics. She is quite the athlete and it is amazing to watch. My wife and I have been married for 19 years so we are starting to plan on what we are going to do for our 20th wedding anniversary. Life goes fast so we are trying to enjoy every minute.
Fit To Fish
Now that I am 46 years old, I am very happy that I have been into fitness since I was a teenager. I feel like I stay healthy with a decent diet, good vitamins, consistent workouts, and proper maintenance. I have been using 1st Phorm vitamins and supplements for a number of years and they are top quality. I also do lots of forearm work in the off season so tendonitis is never an issue. In 24 years as a full time pro angler, I have never had an issue and I think proper maintenance is the key. Check out this easy workout to help prevent tendonitis here. In my regular workouts, I do a mix of strength, agility, and cardio work. Fishing is an endurance sport but I would rather just lift weights so the mix is what I do to stay in optimal fishing shape.
The Missile Baits Magic Worm on a drop shot is the bait that has done more heavy lifting for me in the last 2 years over any other bait. I am admittedly still working on my minnow game, but the Magic Worm, on FFS or not, puts more fish in the boat in more types of places than anything else in my arsenal. Check out the full lineup of Missile Baits Magic Worms here.
My recent trip to Japan for Sunline was awesome! I posted three behind the scenes videos from the trip on my YouTube channel highlighting the experience. For the last several years I have done boat rigging videos, that take you through the entire process. These will start to drop in December, as I begin rigging my Bass Cat boat in November. Check out my channel here.
Bassmaster Elite Series professional John Crew’s sponsors include 1109 Bravo, Bass Cat Boats, Buck’s Island, Cashion Fishing Rods, Fish Lung, Gamakatsu, Lithium Pros, Mercury, Missile Baits, Power-Pole, SPRO, Striker, and Sunline just to name a few.
SPRO Walking Haint
The SPRO Walking Haint 125 is an amazing topwater walking bait. You can throw it a mile, and it has 3 big #2 Gamakatsu treble hooks on it so the hook ups are great. You can work this bait slow and steady or super aggressive, and it won’t catch the line on the front hook. I turned Ed Loughran onto this bait and it helped him win the Lake Champlain Elite Series event. Check out the full lineup of colors here.
Many people have a celebrity look-alike and my celebrity twin is Matt LeFluer, coach of the Green Bay Packers. I have dressed as Matt for Halloween on multiple occasions. I miss Aaron Rodgers!
